Where on earth can you experience a mountain-like island surrounded by calm azure waters? The western coast of Camarines Sur offers a uniquely-different getaway that will surely take your breath away.
Located just a couple of hours southwest of Metro Manila, you will meet the breakwaters of the coastal town of Pasacao. If you see a large triangular speck in the middle of the sea, you’re not dreaming.
Pasacao is a quiet town at the coast of Ragay Gulf. Fondly called the Summer Capital of Camarines Sur, the place is conveniently located 25 minutes away from Naga City. There are numerous beaches located in the town, but its main attraction is the green hill dotting the waterfront.
Daruanak Island looks near, but it is best to hire a boat when going. Daring souls can try swimming or snorkeling their way to the lush hill, but do so with caution. The island has a rocky coast, and it has a cemented stair that you can climb. For about half an hour, you will reach the summit of the hill. It’s like scaling up a mountain after your swim.
